Organization:
Located in the coastal bend region of South Texas, Alice Independent School district is currently the third largest district in its region and is comprised of one high school (grades 9-12), one middle school (grades 6-8), and four elementary campuses (PreK – 5th grades). The district serves just over 4,300 students.
Challenge:
Of the more than 590 school districts in the state of Texas, Alice Independent School District (ISD) is the third largest district in Region 2 and serves more than 4,300 students across six K-12 schools. The district has a team of nine school social workers that collaborates with eight campus counselors, as well as several community organizations, to provide student support including: mental health care, child welfare services, housing and food assistance, teen parent resources and more.
Solution:
The Alice ISD social work team read about ECINS’ partnership with the School Social Work Association of America. After receiving a demo, the team was impressed by the features and functionality and saw an opportunity to support at-risk students more quickly using ECINS.
Results:
Within the first few weeks of using ECINS, Alice ISD’s school social work team saw an immediate improvement in their performance. ECINS has made the administrative aspect of their responsibilities much easier, giving them more time to focus on student support. Today, they report that ECINS has transformed the way they do things and their operations have become a lot more simple, efficient and effective.
