About ECINS - Case management software company empowering communities through integrated network systems

We're Not Your Ordinary Software Company

ECINS is a social enterprise dedicated to improving the lives of vulnerable people and empowering the practitioners who serve them. A purpose-built, cloud-based, highly secure case management system, ECINS is a multi-agency collaboration tool that is being utilised in Australia, the U.S., the U.K and around the world. The ECINS Client Engagement Module was developed and launched from our Western Australia location in partnership with the Aboriginal Males Healing Centre. Created on the belief that when people work together they can achieve more, ECINS is capable of solving just about any case management problem that exists.

Where ECINS Began

ECINS started as a germ of an idea in 2000, when founders, Gary and Sarah Pettengell, were still working in the police force. They were exposed to vulnerable people who struggled with problems like gambling, addiction, domestic violence and sex crimes, and they wondered if there might be a less authoritative, more compassionate way to help them. They understood that the complexity of these people’s lives and struggles might be more fully seen and supported if support agencies could securely share their knowledge about them, and that individuals and communities might experience better outcomes. And they wondered if there was something that could be developed that might help empower vulnerable people and communities to take action in their own lives.

It was then that Empowering Communities through Integrated Network Systems, or ECINS, was born.

Sarah’s compassion has always been front and center in her approach to life and work. This quality served her well during her time in the police force, chairing domestic abuse conferences and managing specialist teams grappling with complex issues such as child abuse, vulnerable adult abuse and serious sexual violence. Sarah’s indepth knowledge of the real problems faced not only by vulnerable people, but those that support them, is invaluable to our clients. Her homebase in Australia, Dunsborough brings with it the sounds of the ocean and the sand between her toes that spells relaxation with a capital R.

“A lot of our clients are IT illiterate. The client engagement app is quite accessible and user friendly. A lot of thought has gone into the space around the user.”

Devon Cuimara, Founder & CEO, Aboriginal Males Healing Centre

“The Client Engagement module streamlines the whole support process for the participant themselves. They may need alcohol and drug abuse assistance, mental health services, homelessness and more. This brings it all together under one umbrella.”

Devon Cuimara, Founder & CEO, Aboriginal Males Healing Centre

“Having our information on ECINS, which can be accessed remotely, enables our outreach team to work outside of the office in community settings, which provides significant cost and time savings.”

Deborah Hooton, Service Manager, Rape Crisis Centre

“The difference ECINS is making to our organization for efficiency, effectiveness, accessibility and managing our caseloads is enormous. It is transforming the way we can store and manage the families we are supporting.”

Kirsty Richardson, Head of Operations , Tiny Life

“ECINS has been absolutely pivotal in the way we are able to work. We don’t have any other system that can communicate across agencies and that is as critical to the work that we currently do.”

Claire George, Head of Peterborough’s Pupil Referral Service and Safeguarding and Prevent Lead for Education, Peterborough

“Our partnership with ECINS gives us a competitive advantage and places us at the cutting edge of monitoring and evaluation. This is going to be a significant catalyst in our success in securing funding, moving forward.”
