Is ECINS the first National Multi-Agency Database for practitioners?
The ECINS Team have been made aware of the following pieces of work this week and I thought I would share them with you.
On Tuesday 9th October Sgt Melanie Locke from Sussex Police told ASB practitioners in Hastings that a vulnerable persons profile was added to ECINS by a user in West Sussex and within 15 minutes that practitioner had received 5 telephone calls from police officers and council staff from Brighton offering help and support as they had previously registered an interest and had received notification of the posting.
Sgt Locke went onto say that a member of the public had complained that nothing had been done about the on going ASB issue she was suffering. At the press of a button a Police Inspector was able to bring up a two page history of not only what the police had done but also what the partner agencies had been doing as well to resolve the situation.
Earlier this week a Prolific and other Priority Offender (PPO) from Staffordshire moved to Norfolk. Access to the person’s ECINS profile and reports was granted to the Norfolk PPO Team and for the next couple of months this person will be managed by both teams. If the person decides to live in Norfolk permanently the case ownership will be passed to Norfolk. This has meant that valuable help and support has been given to the person very quickly and effectively.
We will be including these examples in more detail in the November edition of Partnership Breakthroughs.

Gary
