England & Wales’ police forces received 963,847 reports of anti-social behavior in 2025. This figure indicates a 0.89% increase in reports compared to the previous year’s data.
So, the overall crime rate in England and Wales currently sits at 14.34 per 1,000 people.
According to the Crime in England and Wales report, crime against individuals and households has decreased overall. (Although police recorded crime is usually not a good indicator of crime trends).
Fraud reports increased by 14% and shoplifting rose by 13%. Whereas vehicle-related theft decreased 13% and offences involving knives fell by 5%.
Responding to ASB
A survey from 2024 reflects councils’ growing concerns surrounding ASB management.
75% of interviewees claimed that staff turnover within partner organisations was a barrier to sharing ASB information. An additional 5% (80% in total) said information-sharing caused delays in investigations and taking action against perpetrators.
These responses suggest a distinct demand for more efficient information-sharing across agencies within councils and local partnerships.
Why Multi-Agency Working Transforms ASB Responses
Addressing ASB effectively requires collaboration, context, and communication. No single agency can resolve the complex social and environmental factors that drive ASB.
Housing teams, police, community safety partnerships, and social services each hold critical pieces of the puzzle. But those pieces are locked within organisational silos.
That’s where multi-agency working changes everything. When teams can share intelligence securely, track interventions in real time, and maintain continuity despite staff changes, responses become faster and more meaningful.
At ECINS, we’ve seen how connected systems can turn fragmented efforts into unified strategies. By empowering agencies to collaborate through a single, secure platform, we help ensure that no information is lost, no individual falls through the cracks, and no effort is duplicated.
Multi-agency working isn’t just a process: it’s a mindset. Multi-Agency working transforms ASB by providing the right tools, allowing communities to move from managing ASB to preventing it altogether.
